The very early ones have the 9.25" instead of the current 9.75" , either the flywheel or the PP of the smaller size are harder to find.

You most likely need a flywheel. Or find the smaller clutch kit , but good luck for this one.

the bolt pattern on the two PP's are different. the disk that was on there is 9.75" O.D. the new one is 9.25" and i believe that they are both stamped steel. a magnet sticks to both

You could just resurface your old flywheel(9.75 one) if it's in good condition. I recommend you get a 9.75 flywheel rather than buying a new clutch for 9.25 flywheel.

where can i get a cheeeaaap one! im already out $150

The cheapest one I can find is like 215 bucks on ebay.. You could try to sell the clutch kit you have on ebay. Or post it on wanted section. Some sho onwers might have new clutch kit that they can sell to you.

I can send you a 9.25 flywheel if you want it. It will need to be resurfaced. Shoot me your address and I'll get a shipping quote. It can be there by tuesday if you are in the western part of NY.

By the way James, the engine in the car you sold Beth had the original flywheel and clutch...148,000 miles and it was still working.

There's a reason Ford recalled it, because it is a weak setup and wont last long. I would never go for the 9.25 setup.
