I'm currently reassembling/installing my '89 MTX (manual trans). I rebuilt the trans with new synchros and also installed a Quaife LSD. Also put on new clutch and flywheel. Things have gone pretty smoothly. The trans is now back on the car, bolted to the engine. Subframe isn't on yet, but it will soon be ready as I just installed the sway bar with new bushings and end links.

I've been using Joshua's (Shonut) instructional videos for the rebuild and clutch install, and they are great videos.

My question is about the 2 bolts in the photo. I can't figure out where they go. Anyone have any ideas? Also that sensor, any ideas about that? I have another project going out with a different car, and maybe it's from that (a Honda).

The two nuts/bolts look like the ones that hold the cable shift bracket on to the trans. Back side of the trans near the shift shaft. I don't think that sensor goes to the SHO. Looks like a coolant sensor but not one I'm familiar with.

Thank you Chad, that's a good idea I'll check it out.

I figured out where those bolts go. I was looking at pics of when I initially took the trans apart, and can see the two bolts are case bolts. For future reference, here are the photos. You can see the bolt with the tab, and the other one bolt in the background. Praise Jesus.

Those are the exact ones that I thought they looked like. On the cable shift cars that's how the bracket attaches to the trans.
