That WAS the right oil...techs see a 24v taurus and assume it's a duratec. Happens all the time.

The guy I sold my car to called me up a week later and asked me why I sold him a car with no oil pressure. He even asked me if I used motor honey when he test drove it...I was just about to have a caniption when I realized he didn't change his own oil...

The tech used 5w20 because he thought it was the right stuff for a 24v ford.

you know what they say about assumptions.... they make an ass outta you and me and completely f* a nicely running car

I don't have any problem with people knowing what viscosity goes in my car. Not that I let anybody else change my oil; it's just a precaution (and it looks nice).

As a precaution I had my RB's changed. It turns out that I didn't need it but I sleep better at night.

It's always good to have a base and know when your maintenance schedule is. I didn't know the maintenance history of my SHO so when I could I had it all done.

The Dodge Viper oil cap (Mobil 1) fits the SHO. However, it's a 2 piece cap. I tossed mine after the threads got stuck in the head and the top part came off!

It looks a lot like the one in the second picture that Jason posted.

The rattle coming from my car has gotten noticably louder, but i have pinpointed that it is coming from the passenger side of the motor. you do not hear the noise coming from the driver side. i am thinking that it is a pulley that has gone bad. if a pulley goes bad can it put enough strain on the motor to make the oil light flicker?

not exactly sure how that would work, even if it did, its still just as severe, low oil pressure is never good

it's engine speed related, not load related. Pull the belts and fire it up for a minute.

Since you don't have tools, go buy a stethocope at the parts house and place it on various parts of the engine to see if you can pinpoint the noise. Also, I am guessing you don't have jackstands at the moment. If you could get a hold of some, put the car up on those and start it. Take your stethoscope or whatever you're using for it and hold it to the oil pan to see if it's a lower end noise.

This was the advice I was given when checking mine. I was able to eliminate rod bearings as the noise was concentrated on the top left bank of the engine.
