I just found a Factory sub box @ the junk yard and was wondering where the factory harness is to plug it into. My 95 mtx didn't come with the sub, Am I missing something because of this? the wires were cut by someone else at the junkyard so there wasn't a plug on the sub at all.

thanks in advance:thumb:

You need the silver amp to drive it. There's a plug coming from the other amp (black jbl one) going into the silver one. And then the connector for the sub.

Premium sound cars have a silver amp to power the four speakers. To use the JBL subwoofer you need both amps that came in JBL cars, as well as the little black box mounted in between them (I forget exactly what it is). JBL cars have a black amp for the speakers, and a silver one that drives just the subwoofer.

Honestly, if you're looking for big bass, you're better off just getting some nice aftermarket stuff. ****, even changing the headunit and replacing your speakers will make for a noticeable increase in quality and thump.

I agree with SHOTEEN95. "Upgrading" to a factory JBL sub is not really an upgrade. You'll get way better bass out of an aftermarket sub & enclosure. If you really want to use the factory sub enclosure something like this http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=80905&highlight=enclosure with a more powerfull (aftermarket) amp should sound nice.

Or just install some good 6x9" coaxials on the rear deck with a small enclosure under each speaker and an amp... it all depends on what kind of sound you're looking for.
