I have a 93 ATX SHO.. I put it in the shop to have two oil leaks fixed. the oil pressure sensor and the crankshaft front seal. The car ran fine after the sensor leak was fixed, but after they fixed the seal the car won't run. It cranks and turns over fine, but won't run.. They tested the timing it has fuel and spark.. Is it possible they messed up the crankshaft position sensor, or the timing belt?

The SHO motor doesn't have a distributor. There's a coil pack and an ignition (DIS) module, and they along with the EEC control timing and spark.

If the crossover pipe isn't securely bolted back down, the DIS module attached to it won't be grounded properly, and this may be why your car won't start.

I would think CPS. Is there any residue or oil on the CPS?

I do recall your supposed to adjust the crank sensor with a gauge . Too close or far and it's like having the wrong gap in a plug and it'll prevent running. All that thing is ---is it works by detecting electric/magnetic pulses so wrong gap could cause it. Of course maybe they just plain wrecked it.

Is the computer throwing any codes? I would guess cps since the front seal is right there.

let me know how it turns out. I've got a 92 doing the same thing. Replaced the crank sensor 30,000 ago. No noticeable water pump leak. good luck!

No luck yet.. they've tried a new cps and a new ignition module. Now they say it looks like some of the wires have been probed. whicn may cause a short. It seems to me the car was fine before they took it apart and put it back together.. A 4 to 5 hour job has turned into almost a week of no SHO.. I've learned a lesson, just wish i had looked on the net first for a good mechanic. turns out htere isnt one too far from here.. They may end up taking it to him. I would like to thank everyone for their help, and would welcome any more info that may be helpful.

I've noticed if you unplug the IAB sencor you get spark and fuel but no start so you might want to try that. I think the voltage of the spark is greatly decreased because the fire is yellow
