Well i have been having this problem for a coupla months now where i will be cruising and just have my foot on the pedal to keep constant speed and the car will seem to stutter. it realy doesn't effect performance because if i jump on it there is no hesitation or stutter but it just gets annoying when cruising. I figured out when my EATC is on it will do this but when it is off it won't which rly isn't good because winter is coming up and my heater will be on alot. I was thinking it could be power related but i have a less than year old optima yellow top and my alternator doesn't show any voltage problems

You mean is like surges temporarily sometimes? I've felt that in most SHO's I've driven...

maybe not ur alternator? maybe the belt slips when the ac is on? i don't think ur eatc can really cause it so check ur belt theres gotta be some reason. if its minor hesitation i have that right before the secondaries open but thats because oil in plug wells.

It is actually a sensor. I forget the name of it but it is the cylindrical one on top of the intake. I was having this problem and I cleaned it. I havent had the problem sense. It is hard to get off but get it off enough to get some carb cleaner and it should be fine.

ok kinda makes me feel better this is kind of a normal thing. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the AC since i don't use it all that much and it still happens when i use my front defroster or anything else. i will check that little sensor maybey it got some dirt or sumthing on it when i was doing my 60k

For what it's worth, I think the defroster uses the compressor, just like the A/C does.

If it ONLY happens when you have the A/C or defroster on and NEVER happens any other time, you may want to look into the compressor, pulley, accessory belt, etc.

If it has happened while neither the A/C nor the defroster was on, it's probably just an engine (sensor) problem.

Good luck. If you can get any more info let us know!
