I 've just bought a '93 ATX last month.
If I let it sit for a day, the battery is dead.
I started pulling fuses and checking amperage draw.
I pulled the headlamp fuse (under the hood), -> no more draw.
I took some more readings:
523 ohms - fuse block to ground - headlight switch off
dead short - fuse block to ground - headlight switch on
fuse block terminal -> headlight circuit side, not power side (hope this makes sense).

What do I need to check now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Check the power connections at the head light switch connector to ground with the fuse out to see if there is a short in the power harness.

I checked out the headlight switch connector this afternoon.
All the wires except orange/white was grounded.
I also checked out the headlight connectors.
Both the HI and LO circuits are grounded.

This is a big pain in the @**.
What do I do now?

Had the exact same problem.

Did your car come equipped with a DRL module?

If so.. it would be located underneath the drivers side splash guard, front part of the wheel well. Unplug this connector and see if your draw goes away.

These stupid modules always seem to fail, and when they do fail it can produce strange results. I did an autopsy on a couple of them and found them to be full of water.

Also, if your battery is run dead too many times, the plates inside the battery will sulfate/corrode and the battery will lose its ability to hold a charge.

hope this helps!
