Video of an Ecoboost Flex holding its ground with a C6 as well.

14.1s at 104MPH with MKS
13.9s at 104MPH with MKS

14.5s at 95 to 98MPH with a Flex weighing just under 5K lbs

Awesome. The SHO will be running mid-high 13's @105. Less weight, more power, and the 12s package with short gears should be an impressive car. Damn I'm impressed...... its a great starting point. 12's will hapen with an exhaust, tune, Intake. This motor looks promising........

idk abou u guys but I love the flex for some reason. And to have one that fast is so kick-ass. Thats a sleeper if you ask me.

I like the quote at the end.

"Someone should really tell Ford they need this setup in the Mustang"
Return of the SVO. Faster than the v8 GT!!! LOL :hail:

add a good front mount, bigger piping, and a tune, and the ECOSHO's gonna be a low 13 second car with ease.

Damnit! You beat me to the punch. I was just gonna post this.

My reaction: FINALLY! I've been waiting for some real EcoBoost performance numbers for some time now. The MKS is right on par with my estimate of the new SHO @ 14.0-14.2. I think the new SHO is a bit lighter than the MKS so hopefully it can do better than 13.9. That's pretty good for a 4400+lb car.

Just so you know, the stock SHO already has a big front mount intercooler, although made of composite I beleive. The piping is def where it needs work as it has a bunch of wierd turns and kinks to meet Ford's interference tolerance standards with other parts around it.

Talking to the guy from Honeywell, who helped develop the turbo's on the E-boost, he said with a quick tune you could get about +2psi and 35-40hp out of it before the little turbos are getting out of their volumaetric efficiency range. He also said, as I mentioned in my post about the SAE/SHO event, the motor could easily handle 400hp, but the tranny won't take that much torque. So I would invest in the tranny first.

One last thing, the Flex is a beast weighing in at 4839lbs in EcoBoost AWD trim, which makes 14.5 even more impressive. (Flex Tech Specs)

I think this car is going to take a lot more work and probably 10x as much money as people think to get it down into the 12's

upping the boost 2psi and getting maybe 30hp isn't going to drop you a second in the 1/4..... and from how things are shaping up... doing anymore work then that is going to require massive engineering, tuning, fabrication, and a shitload of cash

I do hope I am wrong, but this is how its looking to me...

and I don't think that flex, "held its ground" with the c6, that c6 beat the snot out of it, the board was hard to read but it looked like 110mph... and a crappy launch... 110mph is pulling ******* a 98mph trap speed.... thats like comparing a bolt on, cammed SHO with a big shot of juice to a stock sho.... and I think the vette beat it to the finish line by a couple seconds

we have bolt on 3.2's on this board that would beat that ecobooost Flex... and I most certainly wouldn't consider a bolt on 3.2 anywhere near a C6... or even a slower C5....

Ok so a 4 Door SUV comparible to a Saburban that was racing a C6 and did very well in my eye's you thought was not holding it's ground?:nut: Thats pretty impressive to me a new SUV that does 14.5 @ 98 mph. And what did the C6 run?:naughty:

comparing a flex to a suburban is like comparing an ****** to a town car

the vette looked like it clicked off the board lights 2 seconds before the flex according to the video timer... which might not be the most scientific way of figuring it out, I really can't read the board, but its defintely a 11x trap..... from some research a stock c6 of current years is a mid 12 second car with stock tires.... and quickly turns into a 11 second car with drag radials and a bolt on or two...

I'm just not impressed with the ECOboost....

I'm sure it will come into some new nicknames shortly after everyone beats the **** out of them... like ECOBOOM! or something along those lines

it sounds good on paper, but I think reality is going to be a slap in the face, give it 5 years....

So if the C6 is a 12.? sec car and the Flex is 14.5 sec what's bad about being 2.5 seconds slower for a new SUV? Again I am impressed with the Flex...

2.5 seconds is a huge ass kicking....... thats whats so wrong with it

thats like saying my SHO is almost as fast as a Terminator Cobra.... there is something seriously wrong with that statement bro

and I dunno about you, but if I want to drive spirited and go fast, besides from limmiting myself from further potential... hauling ass in a 5000lb vehicle is hazardous to your health and other people's on the road.... its not going to stop or manuever like a race car... same scenario as the people who mod their Super Duties up and try to drive like a corvette on crowded rush hour city streets.... its just not a good idea

Again you're comparing a 4 DOOR SUV with a C6 CORVETTE and it's only 2.5 seconds slower. Whoa slow down Simba no one said anything about hauling ass and drag racing a Flex either. Nor did anyone say it was going to maneuver like a race car. So I think the other "People's" on the road are safe for the moment. Just relax and have a glass of Chocolate Soy Milk that we all know you love ok..:salute:

damn I wish I had some soy milk, times be rough around here......

look bro I don't wish to get in a ******* match here, and I really shouldn't have brought anymore points up against your posts, my intial posts where about the OP saying it held its ground against the corvette, which it did not......

but you just got to me a little bit when you starting talking about such a fast SUV and caring about speed in such a large vehicle that really isn't intended to be doing 100mph down a street.... The SHO is about the largest vehicle I would drive on the street sportingly... sure you can add bandaids to your car to make it feel more sporty, and faster... but physics will rule in the end.... it infuriates me when i see people doing that shit, especially with the big 4x4 diesel trucks with mud tires on it hauling ass all around(gas prices kinda fixed 60% of that though)....... I don't know about you, but I don't want to be clipped by a big ass truck or suv racing...

**** I still have vivd mind pictures when that new chevy truck cut me off and I sent it flying through the air upside down.... that was something to see lol

Me neither I was just impressed with a 4 Door SUV that does 14.5 in the 1/4 mile, Yeah we have those ****** heads here that have them huge trucks that think they're king of the road. Like today on my way to work, one street has a lane shut down and I was using the right lane to take a right before it turned into one lane and this douche bag thought I was trying to cut him and get ahead of them all and was running me off the road. All I wanted to do was make a right turn damn jagg off's.
