I have '93 with a MTX and recently purchased a EATC hard button unit in hopes of replacing the old one with cracked buttons. However, when plugging in the new unit nothing happens even with the key on. The previous owner insures me it was working when he took it out. It appears to be a power or ground issue. Are these interchangable and what do I need to check?

You didn't mix the two connectors up, did you? It appeared that they were easy to cross when I replaced mine...

Double checked and it is from a taurus. The first time I had plugged it in I tapped on the dash and got it to come on for a split second. After that I have not been able to get anything out of it. I was under the assumption it has a loose connection. Anyone know the electronics behind this unit?

yeah, it's a very simple mother/daughter board configuration. It really shouldn't be that hard to take it apart and see if anything is amiss.
