Doesn't matter what it seems. It is what it is.

Stated CHP (from FMC) has consistently remained the same throughout the GEN4 (2010-2012) & GEN5 (2013 and up) production runs.

That being 365.

Throughout the years, stock dyno pulls, (literally stock with no mods whatsoever) have consistently ranged from 277 to 285 on average.

Thus the previously stated 23% to 24% loss ratio.

Wow.....so a stock SHO on 93 nets 281 hp average. So with just a E30 tune, that netted me a 110 hp gain to the tire.

If the same can be said with TQ, then that netted me a gain of 190 foot lbs of tq to the tire.

That is so damn cool.

Yes, this ecoboost is known for being tuned WAY below it's capabilities. Even tuning and staying on 93 will give significant gains.

The latest iteration of the ecoboost in the Explorer ST just ran an 11.9 with an E30 tune and drop in air filter alone.

Of course alot of that has to do with the new transmission in it

Oh I know. I have been looking at a couple. I really like the Range Rover Sport as well.

I was reading that the PI had a dedicated intercooler for the PTU as well as an added water cooling jacket, also read that the RDU on the PI actually uses wet clutch packs vs dry so it can take alot more beating. Gonna be looming into getting a PI parts car or try to source those

The PP SHO and Ecoboost PI cars are the same. The PI cars are just stripped down and fitted with what the police departments request.

That doesn't appear to be true. The PP sho has a cooled ptu yes but the PI had an even FURTHER upgraded version to help take a beating in chases, are you sure your RDU has wet clutch packs?

True for the cooled ptus.

That's what I hear for the rdu. I'll have to log into the Ford interwebs and do some digging, maybe some part number comparisons. I may end up purchasing a PI rdu as well.

The 2013 PP and the PI are the same platform. Better Pistons, better brake pads, trans cooler, PTU cooler, better suspension, drive gear ratio, ect. I am 99% sure I have the wet clutch packs as well.

The PI PTU has a DEDICATED cooler, yours is hooked into your radiator, i believe the PI PTU also has a SECONDARY water jacket on it for further cooling. Ill try to find it but what I read was the PI had a police use only PTU and RDU that were beefed up to handle the extra stress of being a pursuit vehicle.

Oh so you think the PI is dropping about 30 WHP just because the ptu has a dedicated cooler and the RDU has a wet clutch, and your extra weight? A total of like 15 pounds? Take the damn spare tire out jesus.

Can you find me a part number for the dedicated PI PTU cooler? Also is there a different part number between the PP and PI RDU?

PLease check out my PTU Build thread if you're interested in seeing the inner workings of it and my efforts to make that part stronger.

https://shoforum.com/index.php?threads/ptu-build-thread.141439/

I always felt it would be quite easy to convert to a cooled PTU if you didn't have that version yet, with a few parts.

I was gonna tackle the RDU after that, but looks like @mrhighcaliber is all over that...I'll learn from what he discovers...

Thats what i was looking for on my break, but as far as I can tell the only way we rhe public can get our hands on those is to buy a PI, i might call ford next week if i can't find anything in the following days, will get back to you later
