I was driving from Cincinnati to Columbus averaging about 85mph...All of a sudden my O/D Off light starts blinking on and off and I can't accelerate. I let off the gas and about 10 seconds later I was able to accelerate again...I was able to accelerate until 80mph before I couldn't go anymore (I repeated several times). After I got home there was some smoke coming out from under the hood. It was coming from where you check the tranny fluid. I checked the tranny fluid level and it's fine. Any thoughts?

Several members have reported similar symptoms just before their transmission went. I guess at this point you can just pray it doesn't happen for a long time.
One problem with some transmissions is the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Slight possibility it may be that, but with the smoke as you describe its probably something mechanical instead of a sensor.
Does your torque converter lock/unlock as it normally does?

Who did the work ? If you have a warrantee take it back ! I have heard several complaints about Aamco using SLO (standard Tuarus) TCs as well as the unknowing rebuilder . They have different lock up characteristics than the SHO TC but fit right in place .
Some have discribed symptoms as yours like a dragging feeling between 60 and 80 mph and the trans running hot as well . A good wiff of the fluid on the dipstick will let you know if the tranny is burning clutch matterial . It`s a definate burnt smell . Also look very closely for tiny sand like particals mixed in the fluid .
Scan that bad boy for a stored code and pass it this way .

Just thought I'd give you all an update. Apparently something hit my transmission cooler and took a chunk out of it. I took it to Brad at ShoFast and he fixed it no sweat. (Pretty freaking quick too)
