I have a 92 SHO. I have two different DIS modules that work on the engine. One has a E9 prefix and the other an F1 prefix.
Does anyone know if they make a difference to the engine and the ECU?

Shouldn't make a difference. There's been 3 or 4 revisions to the DIS module since the '89, and I've seen the newest work on the oldest cars and vice-versa. I couldn't tell you what the differences are though. I'll have to look through the TSB's for it some day...

IIRC, the 89 (E9 prefix) module is unique, the 90-95s are the same.

Check the parts replacement cross reference site that is stickied in one of the forums.

My car is a '90, and its original DIS module had an E9 part number. The replacement one has the F1 prefix, though.
