Here are shots of my plug wells. The one on the right is #6. You can barely see the plug tip. #5 you will note, is totally submerged.

The odd thing is I had no driveability issues, and all 6 plugs are like this.

Good thing I got new seals...

I'm doing a 60k - top and front stuff, plus rod bearings. Plus my rad fan motor is toast...need a new AC clutch...and I should tear into the rear suspension too...

Sorry - figured that out after I posted (first try posting pics on this forum). No time to set up a photobucket right now - I'll catch it later. The car is calling! And in many pieces!

looks like that one cam lobe is worn too ... is the cam blue right there from overheating ? maybe not getting enough oil to that one lifter ?

Nah. Just bad lighting. Using a LED flashlight to try to show deep into the wells. Everything was pretty happy looking in the top end, other than the oil in the wells.

Beats me. I did my last 60k about 4 yrs ago, which was the last time I pulled a plug wire. Everything was dry at the time and I used a little bit of RTV on the plug seals. Reused the old gaskets last time. This time new gaskets, no RTV. New wires too.

I'm still surprised I didn't have any misfire issues (that I could tell).
