Today I was looking at an old 92 bezel I have laying around, and wondering how itd look with the gray part (part NOT around the vents), but holds the clock, radio redundant controls, headlight switch, etc...) in the factory Green with clearcoat, leaving the whole rest of the interior black as it is? I have a Carbon Fiber dash kit in there right now, but I also have enough window switch panels, and pieces to remove the CF and do a lot in The factory green w/ Carbon Fiber. Was possibly thinking of the top portion of the console in that color as well?
Please no flames, thanks for the opinions and/or pics.

i've never been a fan of color match painted interiors, itll make the car look cheaper IMHO. the carbon fiber, however, if done tastefully will fit into the car's interior. i say CF>green paint

Well.. i love the CF!!! but if u make the green bring it to the next meet... we can put it on a black interior... and compare and contrast!

Sounds like a pretty cool accent, Kevin, and would be easy enough to change back if it doesn't work for you, right?

I'm with 'Jonny :thumb:

Pat, good point man. IF I can last that long, lol... I plan to paint one up in the next day or so, and may even do a top to a console as well, and the window switch panels. I too have seen some that make the car look cheaper, I'm just itching for a change in the interior, the Carbon Fiber can still be swapped back in if I dont like the Green... :bonk:

HoustinoJillian, I have seen white bezels in white SHOs, In my opinion, any color but white and it doesnt look bad if done right. I saw one once that looked like it had been dipped in white-out! :vomit:

John (SHO2NV) has this done on his 94 atx... It looks pretty good in his green car:

He switched it to all gloss black, per his cardomain page.

Can't say I'm a fan of the white on grey, though... yuck.

What kind would you like? White? or Pork Fried?

JK. That doesn't look half bad in that picture with the green one.

If you sand down (or fill) the grain first so it's smooth and shiny I think the green on black would look good.

Thing is, I think the green will look okay with the Black interior. I may do the top of the center console, as well as the same section of the bezel as shown above, but that may be it. I just am ready for a change of pace from the Carbon Fiber interior, although who knows I will probably go back to it..
And Mitch, I plan on sanding the grain smooth, most definitely. I'l probably do this in the next week or so, I'll be sure to post pics.

On my '95 se I used 40/40 two part epoxy to fill the clock hole and the radio controls as well as the groove that seperates the bezel, sprayed with filler primer and then sanded, and sanded, and sanded, and sanded, and eventually painted it black metallic... Turned out very smooth and shiny

Hey man, any way to post some pics of it, or email em to [email protected]? Id be interested in doing away with the radio controls, although the clock Id probably keep... Where do you get the 40/40 epoxy, and does is it solid once cured? I would imagine id have to affix some sort of plastic piece first so that the epoxy has something to build off of, right? Thanks for the info man, sounds like a cool idea. :thumb:

The epoxy is made by Duramax, I'm not sure where we get it from but I can find out. It drys hard as plastic if not harder we use it for custom console mods (I'm an aftermarked sunroof installer). As for affixing plastic it is not nessisary I just put a piece of ductape on the back of the radio controls and clock and filled it up, then used a razor blade to smooth the top of it roughly, after it cured went back and sanded and got it real smooth. It should last, we have used it to fill body holes in plastic bumpers on the 300c after installing Rolls Royce grills without problem. Ill see if I can find my work in progress pics and mail them...
