Well, my headlights sucked to begin with. But now, my driver's side low beam went out. Great, I guess I'll have to buy new bulbs sooner than I had hoped. Oh well, I guess that means it's time for an upgrade. I think I'm gonna get the SilverStars. It's weird though, only my low beam on that side doesn't work..... Could this be something else, instead of the bulb?

you could use a test light to see if your getting power there but a maltimeter would work better.

Very unusual if it were anything other than the bulb itself. There's 2 filaments in a 9007 bulb, one for low beam and one for high beam. Its common that one of the filaments burns out before the other.

I had a bulb that the high beam burnt out, so at least the low beams still worked.

So I replaced the stock headlamps with some SilverStars. MUCH better, just need to aim them and I'll be good. :thumb:

Do you have to upgrade the harness if you just use these bulbs? I have been thinking of picking some up but if I need to add a bunch of wiring I'll pass, for now.

If your Taurus/Sable (or any Ford product) is newer than a '95 then the first thing to do is get the upgraded wire harness. Anything else is a lesson in futility and an invitation for melted connectors or frustration at the underperforming lighting. Any bulbs will benifit from the improved current carrying capacity of larger wires and individual relays.

In addition to upgrading bulbs & wiring harness, it is recommended that you reaim your headlights. They come from the factory aimed at the ground six feet in front of the car!

You need to get a wire harness with relays. Then the cheap bulbs will outshine your expensive PIAAs.
