According to some recent threads, my new 91 is not a plus model like the seller stated. Oh well, live and learn. At least she doesn't leak anything now.

This Is A Plus

This is a photo of my plus. The tell all is the stainless side window trim. It also has black mirrors and pillars, front fender 24v emblems, rear deck spoiler, fiberglass hood, body color rear deck 'Taurus' emblem and body color (not black) bumper and door cladding trim.

Mine was built 05/91 and has the rod shifter as well.

And here is a copy of my window sticker.

I didn't know enough about the plus's when I bought it to tell the difference. Mine has the fiberglass bulge hood, but the B and C pillars are painted white like the car, and there isn't any bright trim arround the windows. The rear view mirrors are also half body color and half black.

Oh well, I didn't buy it because I thought it was a Plus, I bought it because it already had a lot of mods done to it. Now that I've replaced the clutch and installed a new Bizzy Built tranny, new front seals, new water pump, new radiator, new front engine mount...ad nauseum, she runs like a top.

Next up is the top 60 K, new plugs and wires and probably a freshly powdercoated intake and valve covers. Then a new exhaust system and then a nice exterior wash, wash, wash and wax.

You have a late build 1991 SHO like mine. Mine had the fiberglass hood and rod shifter also. You will also have a slight extension on the bottom of the front bumper. I like it. I think it make the SHO look slightly meaner from the front.

Hey Im with Mike on this one. As long as it has a rod shifter and a fiberglass hood, you can keep your chrome window trim, badges and all of that. I may have to take it for a test drive when you are all done with the maintenance to uhh...make sure it works right. Yea that its, make sure it works right. I got a 10" orbital buffer if you want some help with the exterior clean up also.

Thanks Aaron, I might take you up on that. I just finished up with the title transfer, registration and plate transfer this morning. My new plate: SHO OFF :laugh_ti:

Also have an intermittent CEL which is probably going to be the EGR block nostrils issue; the intake is positively filthy inside. Going out to run the codes right now and also have a new SHO powered buggy owner coming over to see how my engine is laid out in The Other Woman.

Hey cool stuff Tom, you did all that work pretty fast. Deffintly change that mtx fluid too! Not that hard installing a drain plug either... How's the ATX doing, is it up and running and on the road aswell?

I would highly recomend the clay bar treatment between washing and waxing. I'm sure that paint has a lot of contamination on it. After Mike showed me how simple it was to clay bar a car, I washed, claybarred, and waxed my sho, then took my sig pics. It looked great, but now its sitting outside behind the RV gate. First thing I did to my maxima is washed it, clay barred it, then waxed it. Before that the paint looked pretty good but was real rough to the touch, now it's almost like glass.
