It doesn't interfere at all with anything, shifting or otherwise. Since I don't use cassettes anymore, the loss of that space isn't an issue. I'm not sure how I would do this in a 93-95 center console. I still have a goal to slice the wood block underneath it at an angle so that the display is tilted more in my direction so it's easier to see. I'm not sure if you could tell, but I used the space just behind the cupholder to provide 2 12V outlets that allows me to power the iPod doc from there. This makes for a nice neat setup. The FM reception is perfect.

What I really think is neat is the ability of some specially equipped BMWs to provide a native dock interface in the glove box and then simply use the stereo controls to operate the iPod. I think the first version had a limitation of only 5 playlists, but I'm sure this will evolve more in the future.

Thats a Neat feature. I always liked the look of cruisin around with the antenna down but still listening to music in the car. I think it always looks cocky when you put your antenna down while somebody's looking over at your car! I will be doing that to my next sho which i better have before Indy! :thumb:

thats cool.. and thats plan B if i cant figure something otu that looks good, but ill probably put it inside the glove box... i like resting my knee there when im using cruise control... or is it not as far under sa im thinking it is?

You talking about me? I've never banged my knee into the switch myself, but I don't use cruise control either (because mine doesn't work :p).

You can put it anywhere you want though, just extend the wire.

www.Delcity.net and www.waytekwire.com both have a wide variety of switches. Easy to install. I just used a rocker switch under the dash.

When I did my EATC mod with the inside/outside temp display I used a square maintained PB switch located between the clock and the remote radio controls.

Do you have pics and procedure for the EATC change?

The two points that need to be shorted to make the outside display turn on.

And from the rear

The wires attached going to a maintained switch. On is outside display, off is normal display after the 5 second delay.

Here's the little toggle switch, not the most professional looking, but not one person has noticed since I put it in.

I have a toggle too.. for my green interior lights though :p

And if you wanted you could always grab an up/down ANTENNA SWITCH from a 88-94 Continental.. just a thought.

I didn't realize you had to break into the EATC to do this, but that's fine. When the switch is in the on position and you change the interior temp, does the display show the interior temp setting?

For folks that don't know how the interior lighting is done, the first two pics show the bayonette style lights in the PC (printed circuit) board. Most of the interior lighting is done this way.

To change the interior temp you must switch back to the interior temp display. This mod is the same as holding the outside button down. Once you let up or switch it off there is an ~5 second delay for the display to return to the interior setting.

okay, I figured this out on my own today when I was driving. I assumed that the switch in essence just "holds" the outside temp button on.

Supposedly yes. Funny thing about this is I'm pretty sure that my 92 owner's manual shows a switch to do this that I know doesn't exist!

I want to set my temperature display in Celsius and in Fahrenheit. It is easy to do?

There is suppose to be a wire that hangs down by the gas pedal with a ring connector on it that if grounded will change the display to Celsius. There was just recently a thread on this.
