Check out the owners manual and look up "fuse" in the back. Go to the page and it will list all fuses and what runs on them. You will be able to find the one for your stereo in there.

Are you sure that you have all the grounds hooked onto it. I had to add an extra one onto my stock CD player before it would play - but it lit up before I grounded it. If you're using the stock harness, there's a jack about a half inch long that serves as the master ground/negative. If not, find it in the harness you're using, and touch it to the back plane of the radio, it should work.

Best of luck, and remember, voltmeters are your friend, as long as you use it in parallel.

Does your car have premium sound from the factory? I remember when I put a new stereo in my Mustang I didn't know about the "other" harness... The one for the regular stereo. The install guy at the store told me what was happening to me was the factory amp was in overload and not letting sound through because the new stereo was high output. Everything lit up and all, just no sound, til I found the regular harness. Dunno if this is your problem, but lots of folks do come across this when they swap for an aftermarket h/u...
