Is the crank pully suppose to be able to spin when car is in neutral, all the others do but not the crank I thought it was suppose to spin when car in neutral. Could pieces of old torn bely be stuck in the pully and stopping it???
Could that be why I shredded the belt in the first place??? Please help, I am confused and don't want to tear this belt too, then I can't get one untill after the weekend that would suck

Hello Dan
The crank pulley is attached to the crank, which is attached to the pistons. If the engine is off, the crank pulley should not move at all. If it does, you've got big problems.

The crank pulley, has a key way in it that prevents it from spinning on the crank. The crank pully, or harmonic balancer is what spins the rest of your pullys. Are you just replacing the belts?
