Hi all. I have a '94 3.2. I experienced a (based on crank/no start and lack of codes) a "likely" crankshaft position sensor failure. I've gone through the process of replacing said sensor along with crank/cam/synchronizer seals, belts. But danged if I didn't forget to note the orientaion of the reductor(?) for the cam sensor when I removed it. Now I see that it can be oriented in 2 different directions. If I align the cam pulley dots, which way should that little dude be pointed?

Thanks, Kevin

go to the link and download the Sho engine book.

on page 100 of the Sho Engine book, there is a view of the cam shutter. I don't see any marks that tell you which way it goes. It says to set it one way, but I would imagine it depends which way the camshaft was when the engine stopped. Maybe you compare how the engine is shown with the timing mark in figure 135 (picture above the Cam Shutter and Cam Sensor Installation paragraph.

thank you much zoomlater! I will do as you have suggested. It seemed odd to me that it could go in either way, yet it "seems" that orientation would matter.
