i'm not sure what the hose/metal hose is called but it comes off the engine below the throttle body and goes into a metal hose (i guess you can call it that) that is supported by a sling type metal piece that is bolted to the side of the manifold and then the metal hose goes into another rubber hose (the incomming heater hose) that is on the right side. ok, since i was busy last week i took it to the mechanic and told them, they ended up replacing the heater hose and not the leaking hose. i didn't realize this till today when i parked at work and saw a bunch of nice green coolant running down the parking lot. i would take it back, but there were other complications i had with them and i wasn't going to return anyway for future work. also i have more time this week so i'm just going to do the damn thing myself. anyways, i'm just wondering what that hose/metal piece is called so i can go buy a new one. hopefully my description wasn't too confusing.

thanks! :)

That hose as a whole is discontinued. What you will want to do is to remove the rubber/metal hose assembly and cut the metal coupler that connects the rubber portion to the metal portion. Then buy new rubber hose and just use a hose clamp to reattach the rubber portion to the metal portion. Does that make sense?

I used the time that I had these lines apart to strip prime and paint the metal portion of the hose...so that I wouldn't have to worry about those falling apart also.

It is for the climate control - it senses the coolant temperature, so when it is set in 'Automatic' mode it won't turn the heater fan on full blast if the coolant isn't hot. Long since discontinued, and a member here bought up the last remaining sensors.
