Ok heres the scoop. My dads 92 has 124k on it and the last 10k the throwout bearing has started making more and more noise. Lately last 1K it is getting harder to put it in 1st gear. What do u think?

Well- I had the same problem. What I did before getting an enitre new clutch, something I did not want to do, is put an additive in the tranny fluid. I had a rattle, clicking noise coming from my clutch area. Shifting was also near impossible, and when I did get it in gear...GRIIIND. I put Prolong tranny additive in, and just 1000 miles later- the sound has vanished and shifting is butter smooth. Sounds unbelievable, but it worked for me. Twenth buck is a lot better than 700 for that new clutch. Try this- there is nothing to lose. It is always good to put new tranny fluid in with the additive.

Wow...you just described what mine sounds like....Pain in the **** to put it in 1st, or reverse...sometimes grinds going to 5th also if I go to fast... Dont you have to drill a hole to drain the fluid??
