I did all of the above and my Gen1 still surges during acceleration. No power=No fun. Because of a broken shifter bushing, I had to limp home in 2nd and 4th gear a few times. Any connection to my problem? Everything sounds OK, engine, tranny, etc. Weird seeing the tach move up quickly with no power...Any suggestions? A footnote to CA owners: If you haven't done the EGR cleaning(I have 117,000 miles on the clock), you should do it whenever you do the 60k or have the IM off. The ports into the IM were completely plugged on mine(probably due to a stuck
thermostat a few years back). Amazing I was able to get smogged! Man, are those hexnuts tight! And if you think the gunk from cleaning the IM is bad, wait 'til you see the coke/cleaner mixture that comes out! Thicker than pig snot! Thanks, Steve chpsho89
