Hi guys.......one time I ran across some pretty detailed instructions for changing the fuel pump by taking the back seat out of the car and cutting a hole in the floor pan. Does anybody know where i can find these instructions? I've tried searching, but found nothing. Thanks for any help.

Yes, but how long would it take to replace the straps when they break because they're so rusty? I'd say there are advantages and disadvantages to both ways. Thanks for the info!!

31.19 at Napa. I would include replacement of the straps in that 20 minutes to remove. They are not that bad to do.

Good luck

Just finished cutting this access door with a friends' electric "double cutter" which is essentially a small shear mounted on the end of what looks like an electric drill. It cuts out a strip of material a 1/4 inch wide like it were going through butter. Simply amazing. Drilled a 1/2 inch hole at each corner of the intended access door, and cut the door out in less than one minute.

The greatest advantage I thought was that compressed air wasn't needed, and the shear kept a perfectly straight line without any noise or air tool oil mist at all.

I could not then, nor can I now looking back, believe how simple and quick it went. No distortion of the metal either, I should mention.

Thanks to SHOBill for marking out the cut for me :thumb:

I'm among those owners who chose to cut the access door on my salt-belt SHO. I couldn't have been happier as I had to remove the pump twice because of a leaking gasket. My wheels never left the ground and my rusting straps are still intact.
