CF Hood

So got confirmation today (almost 2 week after ordering) that my hood has officially left CA and is headed to MN. Should be in on monday and hopefully delivered before friday. They said it could be as bad as the following monday due to shipping/freight volume. I will upload pics and weight as soon as I have it!

How bad is the shipping cost? I feel they bend us over on the chin spoiler shipping $$$. Hoping for good reports on the CF hood.

$145 which isn't too bad, assuming this thing comes well protected. If its in a single layer box like I get at the bodyshop for OEM hoods, I'll be disappointed.

Hopefully it comes better packed then the fiberglass one. Some forks scrapped it through the box and Duraflex said unless the FB was broken that they don't cover that damage.

Just talked with them earlier today, the hood was delivered to Minneapolis this morning, they were going to pick it up this afternoon. However, they told me not to get my hopes up because it probably won't be checked in until Monday next week. They are a week behind on unloading trailers was the reasoning, and I can't do a self pick up until that container is unloaded. So we will keep on waiting!

BTW, this is Pilot Delivers if anyone was wondering, not my choice of shipper but what I was given.

If i have time tonight, going to try and get the wood blocks off the hood and weight it, then install tomorrow more than likely.

The packing job was amazing, there was a small bit of damage on the underside of the hood that I'll need to fix which isn't a big deal. Still waiting to hear back from vendor about it but then on the car it goes!

Edit: I think the damage was on there before it was wrapped, but it is a little nick where the 2 halves meet to join them.
