I was speaking with a friend about how I check the codes/run diagnostic tests in my '93 and '95 SHOs, using a jumper wire on the EEC-IV connector. He owns a '99 and is just getting into the engine stuff. He asked me if you can do the same on his car. I said "Uh. dunno." Can someone tell me if this is possible and if so, is there a link or article somewhere I can point hime to? Thanks.

No you cannot. You need to get an OBDII code reader. These are anywhere from $40 for the cheap ones to +$1500 for the Ford New Gen Star tester. AutoZone will read your codes for free unless you live in CA.
