Unhook the car's battery for a few minutes and then reattach it.

Mine does the same thing if it ever gets really cold out, usually way below 0.

If that does not work, pull the changer out, remove the case panels and blow some compressed air in there to clean it out. Re-assemble/re-install and it should be fine. The changers do die, but no harm in trying everything.

There is a little switch inside the CD changer that signals the cd is in there. If R&Ring the magazine does not help then either open the changer up and check out the switch or start looking for a new one.

My cd changer had a stripped gear in it when I took it apart to find the problem. It would play one one cd and you would have to tear the cd changer apart to get the cd out. So i sold it in that condition on ebay for 56 dollars. And just bought one from a friend of from TCCA for 45 dollars out of a 98. So i made out on that deal. I know the guy has another cd changer to he maybe willing to sell for cheap. I can ask him if there is anyone interested.

Forget replacing the CD changer, go with an IPOD or MP3 player. Holds hundreds of Albums. Then wire up satelite radio. Your set!

The CD changers failed in both of my Gen 3's.

x2 Ipod FTW. Also doesnt hurt to just install an aftermarket radio where you can play mp3 discs that can hold more than the changer could. Just some thoughts... :type:

... rmacdaddynamara I hope you informed the buyer of your changer that it was broke and you knew what was wrong with it.
