OK folks, I need some help. The AC on my 96 SHO isn't working. I had an issue similar to this a few years back, and the CCRM solved the problem.
This time though, it seems the CCRM fries after 5 minutes. Ac won't work, stick a new CCRM in it, AC works for 5 minutes and then quits. I have tried this with 2 junkyard CCRMs and a new one.
This morning, with the new one, it would click in for a few seconds, and then turn off, click in for a few seconds and then stay off. Recycling the key makes it so that can be repeated, however the last time I did it, it only clicked in once, held for a few seconds and then never clicked in again.
I don't believe it is the Air Gap, since it clicks in and holds just fine. I took it to a pro, and he bypassed the clutch, and it clicked in and held as long as he bypassed it. He also bypassed the pressure switch with no difference in symptoms.
Any help would greatly appreciated. I don't know if I am frying CCRMs at the tune of one every 5 minutes or if there is an underlying issue I am missing.
