Update: I fixed it.

The car finally threw a code, a misfire on cylinder 7. I replaced the coil pack (Spent 72 dollars on a Wells brand, cause I wanted it today), and it's running like a champ. Thank god it's on the front bank. It really did take 5 minutes.

Thanks for everyone's help! I really appreciate it.

It took me a long time to take it apart the first time. It's alot of stuff to keep track of. I am not a mechanic but I do turn my own wrenches on normal everyday stuff.

I too suspect I have issues with my rear coil(s). How complicated of a job is it to get to those rears? I consider myself a novice when it comes to car maintenance, but I also love to save a buck all the while learning about my beloved SHO. I only have a basic set of craftsman sockets, is that enough to do the entire job? Am I better off selling an arm/leg to the stealership to have it done?

I'd love to do this myself, but need to be able to do the job appropriately in under a day. Tips are welcome....

The rear coils are not as scary as everyone makes them out to be. It is involved with a lot to remember to reconnect yes, but it is not something you cannot do yourself.

If youre willing to drive to Denver I might be able to give you a hand with that. I've done it more many times, so if I can be of any help send me a p.m. I also have all the tools to do it.

It might take 2 to 3 hours the first time using hand tools. Some with just shade tree experience have done it in less then 90 minutes. Might Google the V8SHO site from "intake removal" or "coil replacement". There was a fairly detailed instruction on there (but far to lengthy to post here).

No sooner that I buy a spare coil, do I have one go bad. What a coincidence. Going to drive it home tonight and take the xcal 2 so i can pull codes to see if any get thrown.

First real problem I've had with the car.
