My car has been bogging lately in the middle of accelerating and at first i thought it could be my fuel pump but I don't what it is. Anybody else had these symptoms? I mean, it'll do it for a quick second and it'll go back to normal and sometimes I'll let off the gas and accelerate again and it'll go away.

Hello. I'm no guru but I would check your plugs/wires. When was the last time you did an upper 60K? These cars are notorious for having oil in the plug wells and this can cause the wire to degrade and cause the symptoms you are having. If they are fine check the DIS, and check that you have heat sink applied to the part where it touches the intake. Good luck.

It's probably time to do that too but the heatsink...never heard of that being applied to the back of the DIS.

Could be the fuel pump going south; you could also try cleaning the MAF filament with electronics cleaner. remove the MAF from the intake, remove the screen / snap ring and then carefully clean the filament.

Yes my 93 SHO 3.0L did that for about a year until I cleaned the MAF, ran perfect after that. It's easy and costs nothing.

I can concur with the MAF problem, especially if you have a KN or non paper filter. I used GUNK MAF cleaner, and it worked well and is easy. Do NOT use carb cleaner or brake cleaner.

I would also check the codes as rubydist said. That is definitely the place to start. Never hurts to do some maintenance though!
Good luck.

Ok great! I assume the filaments that you're speaking of are electronic contacs or something, and once I take iff the screen then just spray on some electronics cleaner and make sure they're clean and that's it?

I'm thinking it's the fuel pump to because sometimes I can a hear a funny noise coming from below. Would that be the sound of the fuel pump?

There is one wire filament in the MAF which you can see after you remove the snap ring /screen. Electronics cleaner spray can (I went to radio schlock) has a small soft brush on the end. Spray and gently wipe across the filament with the brush and you are done.

Ok y'all...I've changed the plugs, changed the air filter, which needed it, and claened the mar filament and wires and its still doing it. So does this mean that I have a weak fuel pump and need to change it? It still primes when about to start but I can't tell if I need to change it. Next I'll get the codes and see what it says but in the mean time what do y'all think?

Mario, you can rent / borrow a fuel pressure test kit at A.Z. or O'Reilly's. Check the codes w/ instructions from the SHOPhoenix site. I have a plug in code reader but the paper clip method works just as easily. gl!

I'll check that out. Do you happen to know what the pressure guage is suppose to read if it's a good pump or bad pump?

How about checking the codes instead of just throwing money at it...

'cause that would be something intelligent, and is not as much fun as gambling...
