I know there is some type of snap ring on the inside of the intermediate shaft, but for the life of me I can't get the stupid axle out. Can't pull while prying because of the slip yoke. Have been using a big screw driver and prying against the catalytic converter, but no dice. Is there a trick to it or should I just use more force?

You guys are so smart. With a hammer and big drift punch it came right out.

I'm going to get some rebuilt ones at AutoZone. I think these are the originals with 105 K miles on them.

Tritto that Tom, its a snap, not a pull. Here is a tip: from the drivers side, see if you can get a shaft up in there so you can tap it out with a hammer.

being you had the lift, I knew you would like that solution.

Why pry when you can hit?

In fact, knowing you, I bet you could have used a bottle jack some way.
