I got the belts of my car, started the car and i hear what sounds like a loud bearing noise, anyone ever run into this on a their 3.0 engines? It could be the tensioner which im going to check first, but i got a feeling i'm going to need some new cam bearings.

The tensioner bearings do fail and we have them here: SHO Source

The cam bearings almost never fail. The bottom half is integrated into the head so you would need a new set of heads at the least. The rod bearings do fail though.

It's the belt. Is it a Dayco? I use Cloyes exclusively and haven't had a problem since. You can put some slack into the belt but odds are when the whine goes away, the belt will flop between the cams pulleys.

You risk breaking the stud that holds the timing belt tensioner on if the whine persist.

I have seen one cam that literally broke right next to the first bearing due to (I think) a timing belt that was too tight.

There are no camshaft bearings in the V6.
This sounds like the timing belt tensioner.
