hi i have a 93 mtx and i jus did a motor swap from a 91. when i go to start the car it takes a min for it to start it jus cranks and cranks then starts, but i noticed when it start the butterflies dont close at start and of course dont open at 4000 rpm and when i give it gas its kinda boggs a little. i took the intake manifold off and replace the gaskets so i don think its leaking i checked all of the vacuum lines an they all look good but now im stumped. if anyone has any advice i would greatly appreciate it thanks

Check to make sure all the vac lines for your butterfies are hooked up. If they are not the butterfies stay open all the time. They should run from the butterfies to a t and then to the back side of the intake. On the back side there is a canister ect that they attach to then to the intake.

stupid question...is the IRCM (Intake Runner Control Module) plugged in? if so, start checking vacuum lines, and make sure the runners themselves move freely by hand.

stupid question...is the IRCM (Intake Runner Control Module) plugged in?

IMRC = Intake Manifold Runner Control (on the back of the manifold)

IRCM = Integrated Relay Control Module (on 89-90 SHOs, later called CCRM)

I think that's right. I always get it mixed up, too.

What color are the wires that you have plugged into the IMRC? They should be green and red
If not, you have the wrong plug in it.

Yes, that's your issue. Unplug that plug, or you'll fry the computer. Find the one with red and green wires....

One of the odd times Ford used the exact same plug in the same area.

If you mixed up those plugs and had the key on, you just fried the secondary circuit in the computer. You will need a new one.

i started up the car after i put the right connectors in there place. the butterflies still don open or close and the car boggs real bad about 2500 rpm. so u think i will need a new computer? them two connectors being in the same place an the same connectors have to be the most crappiest ford design i have have seen.

does anyone have any advice to why i have that bog at 2500 rpm? is it because my butterflies are not closing?
