Hi Guys (and Gals, now that we seem to have those too :) )

Just moved to an EZ Pass bumper mount from a windshield mount. It's small, black and looks way better than the stupid white block that keeps falling off my windshield and scaring the crap outta me.

...any, I'll post pics when I can, but for now, here's the question...

Mounting it to the lower grill - where it would block up to maybe 10% of the airflow through the lower grill... is that in any way a performance concern? Even a teensy bit?

Fastrak is a similar toll-pay system but they offer an external module that screws to the license plate holder. Does the EZ Pass module allow for that?

Also, with Fastrak, you don't actually need the module. If you maintain a balance on your account, it's automatically deducted when your license plate is scanned at the toll gate. You may want to check and see if that's possible, too.

Do you have to remove the grill to mount it behind or is on the exterior of the grill? Kinda curious to see what it looks like, even though I don't have any toll roads near me!

So there is a certain amount of "defile-ment" involved, sadly. Since the piece is black, if you have blacked out your 2010-12 grille, strong double-sided tape on a non-blacked area could work. For a 13+, you'd have to find an alternate mounting method (please no zipties!). The transponder should not be behind any metal pieces.
