The y-pipe is the best bang for you buck mod on the MTX sho.

plan and simple. alot of people forgot this but the rodshifter is a good mod. Do it with the y-pipe b/c u need to get a different mid pipe.

engine mods (thats wat he asked for)
1. Y-pipe
2 BBB's/Extuded runners
3.MAF
4. catback (optional minamal gains)
5. tuning. very broad subject but some tuning could free up a solid 10-12 whp after said mods are finsihed

suspension.

subframe connectors
Alsfb
lowering springs/shocks (couple options) search
good motor mounts

Brakes
96 upgrade
SS lines

would be a fun car....with room to grow.

An equal length Y-pip might not gain you a bunch of power but it will help your motor breath better.

Tuning: Tweecer, sold by shonutperformance, make sure you get the data logging one. Your tuning will really wake this motor up. There are a couple of people on the board that are fantastic with tuning. Ask me I know they are great.

Do your maintenance, open the intake from the maf to the valves.

Im getting really TIRED of this 'do a search' b_ _ l S _ _ t
If I want to ask a question I will ask it!!
When I first joined this forum everyone was ready to help with no questions asked...now its"do a search first you stupid *****"
You want to run owners off this site, that's a sure fired way to do it!
its just conversation...It has never bothered me to read the questions and provide help when i can,WHY THE **** DOES IT BOTHER YOU VETERANS???

Seriously? Kinda threw your own words in there to spice it up a bit? bad day at work? Did you have a tramatic first posting experience? Sure seems like someone got on you about not searching, and now your taking that out on me.

Sure don't remember calling anyone a stupid *****. Nor did i even use the phrase "do a search first" I said a search could yield more info. I'm not much of a veteran if you haven't noticed. You act like i just kicked your dog, when i POLITELY told you that you might be able to find MORE info in a search. i did NOT say do a search first, i said A search could yield MORE answers. Not because i dont think its good conversation, but because there may be info in those searches that you wont get anymore, say someone who knows alot on said subject doesn't visit as much anymore, but they left plenty of info in prior threads. But it sounds like your more interested in conversation then actual useful info.

Running owners off the forum? I'd think its not your place to say who and what is bringing an individual down unless you are said individual.

All you "veterans"? What is this, middle school? Last time i checked i dont belong to any group named "The Veterans", i'm actually an individual. IF you do insist on categorizing and stereo typing people, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who'd call me a "veteran".

I was trying to HELP you, and pretty politely IMO. Thanks for being such a stand up guy! :sun:

I'm a veteran. No, srsly, I'm a member of the VFW.

Anyhoo, after about the 3,185th time you see a question, you kinda get tired of answering it, because it begins to dawn on you that no matter how many times you answer it, people are just going to keep asking. That's why people tell you to do a dang search - it's been answered 3,184 times already.

Oh right... We LOVE to repeat ourselves over and over again. In fact, how about we set up the forum so anything over a week is permenantly deleted?

Being semi-self-sufficient pays off in the long run.

I mean if all people did was use the search button, wouldn't be much use in having a forum would it?

No, but honestly- this is the ONE question that is sooooo played out- it sets people off. Well, that and my-SHO-is-faster-than-anything-on-the-planet fanboy posts... Except for Toolman- because his is. :D

I guess the proper question back would be what do you consider a bunch of money? $100? $500? $2,000? All would have different answers.

The way I look at it is.

I look at the forum alot.

I read the topics if it interests me, I'll read the post, if it doesn't I will not read it.

The great thing about the reply button is you do not have to hit it if you have answered the question before and think it is pretty dumb to answer it again.

Jason, I used your post because you say your tired of anwsering the same thing. But once in a while I learn something or get an idea to try something from all the reposts.

Now back on topic. and yes I do have the most powerful 3.0 N/A sho motor in a taurus body. jk.
Jason, I really just had to give you a hard time for the fun of it.

Yea ,a bad day at work......or something like that
please accept my apology BRETT.
oldyak.
P.S
The reason that I didnt use search is that most of the viewers are asking for more than 250 hp.
I thought it might give some insight into modest hp gains...

under drive pullys are a good thing and alunium flywheel to lower some of that weight i dont like nos either cuz it is not 100% power all of the time try to go for a small turbo that might help if you want to get good power go with a big turbo and rebuild the lower half of the engine so you dont blow that shit up but that is just my oppinion

for 1k just for mods. BBB/EH (500 new) y-pipe 200 PLUS install. 300 left go with maintence or rod shifter.

Cams may cost less than 1000 but after the new gaskets and shim tools added your right at 1000 though. And thats if he installs them. so skip those basically until spring time

ok...I will go with the y-pipe and BBB`s
what about the MAF and the breathing?

if u mean cold air by breathing........forget it.......lucky to c maaaaayb 1 horse if u dont loose a couple by it......our stock setups is one of the best

gives u a better sound if that what u like but thats about it

simple K&N drop in panel will more than likely give u more than a cold air, or even a good paper filter if u dont like the oil from the K&N

I'd rather drive a SHO with no bolt ons, but with brake/suspension/drivetrain mods then a stock chassis SHO with all bolt ons....

thats kind of where I was heading so I had to put the brakes on engine mods lol

I'm gonna stop with a 3.2/BBB's/Y-pipe/Catback/Aluminum Flywheel

always keep that in mind...... as you start increasing engine power and driving harder the reality of your 19 year old Chassis is going to start poking its ugly head
