I may be a little late to the game with this question, but I was curious after reading in the weight reduction thread. Are you doing PTU/RDU/Trans rebuilds with billet aluminum internals or anything like that or just doing coating? Not sure if it would save a ton of sprung weight but it might help with rotational mass. Just a thought!

12/13/19.......

Front bumper nearly complete, w/splitter installed. They're just finishing up placing that protective stripping on the outer edge. Turned out better than I hoped! So sharp!

Also, heard from my own personal mechanic today, who provided very little info after hearing from trans vendor. Said overall, trans was/is, in surprisingly great shape. Which I was relieved to hear. Vendor said he noticed some small scoring in the trans pump itself, and moving forward, has begun looking around for what can be done to upgrade it. Said a brand new pump alone from Ford was/is a tick over $1k. Vendor told him there were/are upgraded clutches available, and will be used given the stated (& hopeful) goals of power/torque. So that was it. I thanked him for what he was able to find out. Even if it was limited in scope. Least I know that that front is (finally) moving forward as well.

To answer the previous reply. The WPC Treatment is only being utilized in/on the PTU for now. The aforementioned answer should lend (some) insight on the transmission. Haven't looked at the RDU as of yet. May in the future.

Downpipes scheduled to arrive via UPS today. Also went and had all the intake plumbing, and hot pipes re-powered coated so those'll look all purdy and shiny and new.9302b19f1876a2109a4b2099b69f905a

WPC is not a coating. It is simply shot peening, which has been done forever.

Addt'l for 12/13/19......

***BONUS***

DP's from PPE, w/ the subsequent 2500 degree JET-HOT thermal coating arrived today.

Also, picked up the newly re-powder coated intake piping and hot pipes.

Didn't want to remove any of it from the plastic wrap, but you get the idea....

And yes, I must be glutton for a punishment as I had everything done in white. Oh boy.

My OCD will really be tested when it comes to detailing moving forward. Ha!51cce5dcbbc9e5f919e56c9c08dd73812bdac38bd5db2d4a2baaa7c4fb6ff0d4

This really is exciting. There are a lot of people living vicariously through you and this build. LOTS of great ideas and LOTS of great workmanship. Hats off to you sir.

12/16/19 *BONUS*.......

Repair, repaint of bumper cover and then the install of splitter w/CF rods is now complete. In its' entirety, and has been retrieved and brought home.

Where it is now resting/hibernating comfortably in my basement, atop the pool table. Hahaha.

Tried to get a couple of side shots to help show just far out the splitter extends. Hopefully it can be seen.

Like I stated the other day, turned out even better than I had expected.7670c1600634d2a694638ff6054e97157e2c9daaeb6fab8e8ae66c7ddee0ab6e2da016ef3932c547a9195c2fe123236b

Love the whole look of it. Wish I could get the splitter too, but I know my driveway would eat it up lol.
