Bpd1151, how much all this costing you? I just want like 650 awd horse power. I'm going to the same shop you go to.

Ha! Don't ask.

But I guess since technically you did, I will go on record as stating I rarely divulge price points extended to me, between any vendor.

That said, just know I've been subjecting myself to slave like labor in the form of overtime hours ever since the failure.

Feeding the habit bro. Ha!

12/21/19......

Some more work being done on the custom Exhaust Manifolds today. Just got the following pics and message from the machine shop owner.

He stated the following....

Quote: "Some measurement pics for the masses.

Entry to the port almost stayed the same size. Only changed .030 in one direction from the porting done on it, and a constant tubing size of 1.592.

Which increases the runner area by almost 20 percent". ----End Quote.4faa93f16b8655e412c18badf8f68ca7D6f9d0b9a8f8f7ed700296324b64cd64587871f4f4dd3afb55b02b8fff82e769327e73bc03792428ae1b24b01d570535655df780111af983f790684bf6fabe831f937f73bfb8685682845eadab28e3bc12b42f882c32a3e60a76fbf8247d1fb1

Oh man! Looks fantastic! If that fitment is good for bolt-on replacement, tell him to get ready for a bunch of orders! :D

It has been designed to be direct bolt in replacement, and yes, he is aware that others have expressed interest.

Thanks Strip.

Hopeful they work well. Least that's the goal. Least better than OEM.

I definitely wouldn't assume so at this point. I just hope that you do test them against oem on the dyno and that this shop will do right by you if the results aren't favorable.

Hope I'm wrong and these make 'er rip

Why does the ****** look so far off from stock location?
Quite simply because the manifolds are different for either respective side.

The newly fabricated one depicted, the jig for the flanges was based off of the LEFT MANIFOLD (which the OEM LEFT one was cut up and used for fabrication).

The OEM manifold it's sitting next to (in the picture shown) is the OEM RIGHT MANIFOLD.

I asked the same question. Alarm bells silenced.

Hmm, in that case I would've used a before and after picture. Different sides make it tough to compare. Hopefully the other changes made add up to this being needed over stock. It would be interesting to see if the stock manifolds restrict anything below 650AWHP. Ford spends ungodly money on R&D, so they probably only leave a few ponies on the table to cut costs/meet EPA standards.

Before and after dynos would be fantastic.

You are spending an insane amount of money and time on this platform, hopefully you achieve satisfaction that is priceless.

From a mere dimension perspective as shown above and estimate of 20% increase in flow I don't see how these won't prove beneficial. I'm equally interested in the sound enhancement from such custom headers! I'm very interested in a set, thus giving my build a true "full exhaust".

curious to see how it changes the torque curve as back pressure in most cases makes more torque at a lower rpm.

If the peak tq is pushed later in the rpm range that might be a good thing for street and strip manners. Drivetrain parts will appreciate it as well.

The biggest difference will really be seen on the big end. I have zero doubt these will work more efficient then the stock manifolds.

I'm not sure how much of a big end these engines have. Has anyone ran up to say 7500rpm? I've changed shift points and redline all over the place and it actually feels slower over 6200rpm. But maybe that's airflow restriction or something that can be changed with the amount of modifications being made here.

I would say these engines are out of air in the high RPM range honestly. We should see big things out of Mike's engine.

Thanks for all the support, and positive comments, as well as the inquires.

I've never pretended to know 1st hand how all this custom work will pan out.

I would think all the efforts therein, would prove beneficial. But never truly know, until everything's completed and driven.

That's the great thing about actually doing things, rather than theorizing based on hypotheticals. The tangible results will be just that, tangible. Not theoretical.

Lots of blood, sweat, time talent and treasure being applied here, and on multiple levels at that.

Hoping that the updates are appreciated, as my primary goal is to document what's being done, where, how and all to what extent.

That said, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to everyone.
