Bought a 90 SHO

Found a dead rat under the fuel rails between where the heads and middle of the block is. Not sure how to get it out, oh well

I had a mouse nest, maybe a rat's nest when the front 60K was done. Replacing the fuel pressure regulator is really easy now. It's more difficult when the intake is installed (but can be done).

I got it. Found one in the intake filter also when i tore it off the other week. Down at the rear exhaust manifold there is a huge pile of acorns and nest, there at the heat shield on the firewall lol. I think the mufflers have dead animals in there too, smelled like death out the tailpipes. They are comming off eventually as where im from we dont believe in liberal muffler systems haha.

Update:
Bought complete brake line kit on shosource on 4/7. Got an email shorty after the same day from Mike saying the brake line kits are a few weeks out. So i have not really touched anything on the brakes yet, just waiting to get full kit first. Not in a rush either as i really dont want to do it but need too haha

Update from summer. On trailer now being sent to my friends turn key restore place. Color matching electric red to something as close as possible but with more metallic, To put my own spin on it. I do not go cheap on paint and body work. Re tuned engine with tweecer, refreshed the top end, new rims and brakes, installed newer seats in better shape, rear has some tears but easier and cheaper to repair then rewrap. Carpet still needs shampoo'd and headliner needs replaced or repaired. Still need to track down front and rear windshield molding. Also installed sho source catless Y pipe, and sho nut complete brake line kit which i also ordered through sho source.

Sho source was a big deal of help with this project this year even through all the crap this year. Ordered alot from them. Thank you

@mrecoolgar is a big help also as i bought the seats and rims and a good bit of interior parts and radio from him. Thank you

Still undecided on what i want to do exhaust wise. So far its open Y pipe.
You can compare now pics to pics on top of thread. Alot of work done all by me and a help of a friend.

Also restored a 76' John Deere 214 this year. Im only 27, i work 50-60 hours a week and all my freetime usually goes to restoring cars and other stuff. So im always doing something in the garage. No kids and a really good lady lol

This year was awful for trying to get parts to do all my projects. Still waiting for parts for another vehicle i ordered months ago. Is what it is haha

Ill update again once the body work and paint is done. I take lots of pictures throughout the restoration. So ill see what types of pictures i can get with paint missing and primer.
Whats being done is the whole car is being sanded down, work out the body imperfections, high build the entire car with a poly primer and block it down, prime it one more time, wet sand and then paint. Paint matching to 1990 electric red but adding more metallic. Not going to be cheap, im dreading it but in the end it will be nice and worth it as it will be mostly a "Sho" car. Hoping for it be at Carlisle Ford Nationals in June 2021.

Yep. I had a Facebook post yesterday: Groundhog Day - SHO Edition, where my 89 comes out once a year to see its shadow, does the 1.5 mile drive around the subdivision (running it up to 10,994.8 miles), then goes back under cover.

One pic I posted later in the night with the caption that nothing looks better than Currant Red and lace wheels at night!

Hoping for it to be done this month. Im verrry "picky". Made sure my buddy had all other projects out of the way. Only real reason it took this long into the year to start. Need it to be perfect and its just him right now with a helper

Ill be stopping by today to test out the few paints i picked. Stock electric red, and a paint code close with double the metallic and trying out added metallic to stock electric red.
And trying out a flat black and metallic black for the black on side trim and around mirrors and whatnot.

Stock paint code with double metallic added. Black primer for behind and 2 coats of clear. It will look alot better on the car then.
It was hard to get a pic of the metallic in it. Picture dont look as good as it does in person and spray on paper dont look as good as it will on the car in sunlight. If it looks this good on paper, i cant wait to see it sitting in the show field.
Stripping is done, epoxy blocking and primer starts tomorrow and should have car finished in 2 weeks.


Here is compared to stock with the upper quarter of the card with black primer.

Clapped out paint is off. Ready to start. Dont need to worry about rims. They were just dusty, cleaned up good as new. Bagged over now, really had no choice but to send them in with the car but they are being taken care of.
