Bought a 90’ sho awhile back. Around 100k miles. I was told engine was redone. Ported intake, larger maf sensor. And bored to 3.2l. Work was done at a shop in new jersey i was told. Also told the rev limited was raised to around 8k rpm. Not sure on any of the work, just going by what the original owner told me.
Id have to further inspect to see if the engine was even taken apart.
The original owner is a member here and a really nice guy. Not going against what he had said, ive just been through shady car buying before so its just the way i am.
Being sent out to get painted and taking seats out to be redone also. Rest of the interior is cleanable. Not looking into modding it at all, just wanted it for another car to take to car shows. Been looking for a red 89-91’ for awhile

Where are you from?
I have a complete Sandelwood leather interior.
It was from a red 90.
The buyer asked me to swap in a black leather instead.

It very well could have a 3.2 in it. The automatic SHOs came with 3.2s and it's a very common mod to swap the 3.2 into the manual cars for the added torque. I doubt it was actually bored out. The early 3.0s didn't have a lot of material to bore. If you lower the glove box you'll be able to see the backside of the PCM. If it has a piggyback chip mounted to it then I'd believe what he said about the rev limiter and wonder what else it's tuned for. If it doesn't have a piggyback chip then the rev limiter will be stock.

Welcome to the party!

On a 3rd gen, was there any company that make better solid camshafts? Another reason ive been holding off on a 3rd gen

No.

Just getting a set welded is as good as it gets. Ford used that same cam process on the modular engines, basically on millions of engines. Only screw up was on the Gen 3 SHO cams.

Bringing the car home tomorrow on my trailer. I can get some further inspection on it then and see what all it needs to look good.

Reminds me of my very first SHO --currant red with black interior...and eventually a $**t ton of rust. Loved/hated that car.

This car is lowered a tad but as far as i can see under it, i dont see any rust. One of the rear brakelines is chewed through so when i get it up on my lift i can further inspect it. Oh and im guessing this shocktower bar isnt stock? I may keep it on though.
