Would this car make a 2000 mile trip back to MD?

I would have absolutely no reservations about driving this car 2k miles anywhere.

The only thing I would advise is to locate a used lh inner fender liner to install before the drive in case it rains. A portion of mine is cut away for the previous MAF setup but it now clears it. I just did not ever replace it because I was in AZ... avg. rainfall>priority.

In other words, yes :)

I can vouch for the meticulousness with which this car was assembled and is maintained. Nick is very very picky about everything being right, no matter what it costs. I still can't believe he's selling it after putting soooo much money and time in it.

Haha yeah. That's usually how it works though; as soon as you think you're finally done with a project, it's time to sell it and start another one.

Very nice SHO, the only question I have is, why didn't you put a rod shifter in rather than a shortened cable shifter?? Also, did the welded diff pins replace and do the same thing as a quaffe? Thanks!!

Nick, I remember when you got this car and said you were going to keep it stock! :laugh_ti: :nut: I can't believe you've come to the point of selling your heart and soul, but you have to move on eventually. I don't even want to know how much money you've put into this car.

For what it's worth, I can vouch for this car being done properly and always getting the love it deserved. I drove it after he completed the turbo setup, but that was in 110* heat and before he built the motor, upped the boost, and tuned it properly. I'm sure it absolutely hauls now.

Nick, if the buyer doesn't want that set of BFG's, let me know.

GLWS!

i see you mounted the hallman inside the cabin. is there any issue with that? i thought they sold the adapter for that reason.

Well if you have no self control, I suppose having the power to up the boost could be an issue. ;) I manage to do ok.

Thought I'd add a few pictures of my MTX input shaft reinforcement modification. Thought I had lost these pics...

It seems to work when properly adjusted. I had 2 failures that occured when the piece was out of proper adjustment.

Here is the stock reverse fulcrum bracket

Here is the modified version. It uses the same bracket but houses an adjustable shaft snubber. This reduces shaft flex at the weakest point.

The other case half is drilled out and plugged so you can adjust it. The threaded hex stud threads into the housing and moves the collar out against the shaft.

It seems to take about 1/4 turn adjustment every 1K miles or so depending on how it's driven. The threads have a small amount of lock-tite to keep it from backing out due to vibration. This was developed by an engineer/machinist and myself.
