Blown Diff

Hey Has anyone ever blown the diff in their gen3? because i definatly have that problem. my car has under 100,000 km on it and it has never really been abused but i was in traffic last week and i somehow managed to blow the diff....at least that is what the broken spider gears i picked up off the ground are telling me. So if anyone knows where i can find a trans for a good price let me know....if not there are going to be alot of low milage parts for sale really soon.

Speaking of that what is a 3.4 with 97,000 KM worth? lol

i bought a short block for $190 $260shipped to the door of my house....

had 91k lasted 4k up to 95k but it was a cam failed motor so i would doubt that to happen to yours...

a full stock nos sho engine was sitting on ebay for 999.99 plus shipping had every thing from the lower intake to the oil pan iirc... if that helps ya out any

I'm pretty sure that engine went for alot more than that on ebay, my father was going to pick it up for his car.

the man needs a transmission not a motor. just keep checking ebay. ive heard the gen 1 and 2s have a lot of problems blowing diffs apart in the 5 speeds, but i havent heard much about the gen 3 trans. I have a gen 3 and the trans is holding up just fine but with only 93k on it.

I'm glad I got an extra, working used tranny just sitting.

IIRC the crate motor went for 3 grand.

The original BIN price was $999 but was quickly relisted with a BIN of $1995 which went away after the first bid.

call a few trans shops price out the rebuild

i got tons of money and time into my sho so i wouldnt get rid of it that easy but i guess it depens on how much you care about your car... i would just fix it

you have obviously never seen a transmission before.

buy a replacement transmission, install said transmission over weekend, enjoy working car. buy nitrous, install said nitrous. Enjoy very fast working car.

well iv blown just about everything possible in the ax4n my car is in the shop now for blown torque converter
ill let u kno if i blow i diff too im sure i will if it havent yet

Ijust found a parts car for $800! hasd a good trans and motor so i bought it on the spot
