Hey Guys, I am working on my 95 and it doesn't produce any heat. The a/c is in working order but is luke warm or (not as cold as it should be).

I took off the plastic panel under the glove box and found the fan module but I have never really had to go deep into the ac/heat system for anything. I dont know where the blend door system or what could be wrong with it.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Does it make a persistent and annoying clicking sound from behind the dash? Classic sign of the Blend Door Actuator needing to be replaced. I've needed to do mine since I bought it last year. IIRC it involves pulling the dash. I know there's a thread on dash removal in the How To's.

You can do a diagnostic on the AC system and it has a read-out that gives the health of the blend door.

So I ran the self test and when after i pushed auto the screen went blank and the eatc seemd to turn off. So now maybe its a bad eatc.

Just to be sure i held down off and floor then let go then pressed auto.

And my luck i was cleaning out the garage a few months back and i threw out my spare eatc. I figured why would i need this again. :(

doh... This says the test takes 20 seconds. It is different than the gen 3 and latter models.

The control assembly will detect electrical malfunctions occurring during the self test.
1. Make sure the coolant temperature is at least 120F (49C).

2. To display error codes, push the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously and then the AUTOMATIC button within 2 seconds. The test may run as long as 20 seconds, during which time the display will be blank. If the display is blank for more than 20 seconds, consult the No Error Code Found Diagnosis and Testing chart.

3. The Self Diagnostic Test can be initiated at any time with the resulting error codes being displayed. Normal operation of the system stops when the Self Diagnostic Test is activated. To exit the self test and restart the system, push the COOLER button. The self test should be deactivated before powering the system down.

ERROR CODE KEY

Code Condition

1.. Replace control head
2.. Blend door problem
3.. In-car temp sensor open or short
4.. Ambient temp sensor open or short
5.. Sunload sensor short
6.. 888 Test complete - no failures (all segments on)
