Well hello ladies and gentlemen I have a problem on my hands. I'm balls deep into this rebuild and I realized that the male threads on the block for the oil filter are missing! If someone could find a way for me to get one I would love it! I would hate to have to stop this rebuild due to one stupid little part! :fit: Thanks guys!

Swap the one from your current engine when you do the swap. It's the same part from a 3.0 to a 3.2.

there is no male part. what you need is the tube that retains the oil cooler.

btw, if you are going to do an external cooler and want to put a remote filter adapter on there, the threads in the block are M20-1.5

PM'd Mr.Span. And I'm not quite sure what you mean? I think I'm missing a little metal threaded tube that I screw the filter onto? (the block)

Is your oil cooler still there? you might need that too if the bolt is missing.

This is what it looks like, but it shouldnt be this warped. This was the one i just replaced. The bolt you are referring to that you attach the oil filter on is used to attach the oil cooler to the block. The bolt is threaded on both ends. One end goes thru the cooler and into the block and the other is left exposed so that you can attach the filter.

What happened to your old one?

The bolt doesn't wear out, the cooler can - but that appears to be few and far between.

Doug

It just isn't there. This is an extra engine I got with the can that I am rebuilding and it's just not there.
