My car has lately been exhibiting a bad bog off the line. I know for a fact that my flex pipe is bad(soon to be replaced) and there is a decent exaust leak by the donut gaskets. But could that cause my car to bog that bad? The cars rpms kind of hold out till they get to 3,000rpms and then it gets up and goes. What else should I look into replacing?

BTW A flex pipe at ford is a total cost of $150, does anyone know of a better price?

How old are your plug wires? If you have wires arcing to something (including each other) your car will run like poo until you get around 3K.

Try checking your intake duct hose. The one that goes from the MAF to the throttle body for craks or tears. Sometimes you cant see them because it tears on the elbow. i would take the hose off and give it a good inspection. If there is a tear you can use thick duct tape to seal it until you buy a new one. This happened to me. The MAF is giving a reading of metered air flowing to the engine. More air is being sucked in after the reading of the MAF and the engine doesn't know how to react to the added air therefore stalling or loss of power. My air duct split because excessive motor movement due to a motor mount. Give it a shot anyhow.......Later Matty

I third the dog shit :) . The bolts on my gasket had rusted and broken. It was soooooo loud, but I had no decrease in power anywhere across the band. Got it fixed for the cost of the bolts when I got my new clutch. thumbs_u
