Here is the modified line. It consists of the pump side of a gen 2 line and the rack side of a gen 3 line. I brought the pieces to a hydraulic line shop and the put a swivel an type connection between the two line so they could be clocked appropriately.

Ill give you a small update. Intercooler has been painted black, turbo is in pieces waiting on a rebuild kit and a new turbine housing. The old one was soo rusted that you couldnt get any bolts out. Took his fog lights out yesterday, then the charcoal canister. Once his paychecks start coming in, we will get the fuel rails bored out for the 30lb frpp injectors. Then we will buy some exhaust piping and notch the subframe for the up-pipe.

how much did the line cost you?

I had the gen2 line so that part was nothing, i bought a gen3 line i think that was aroud $50. I got lucky and the guy at the hydraulic shop didn't charge me anything for crimping up the lines so i'm not sure what the going rate is for combining the lines.

I did mine a little differently, but I bought new hoses from RockAuto. You can search the forum, but I think I just put the Gen 3 rack fitting on the end of the Gen 1/2 hose. I paid $11 to have the hoses/fittings put together.

I think i remember testing the ratio's between the two racks. I was curious why it was more responsive. The ZF was 3.5 turns stop to stop, the gen1/2 was 4.5.

Just saw this post - I guess I need to find me a zf rack next - the Gen 1/2 rack is slowwwwwwwwwww - for my tastes at least.

Edit: more forum searching shows them both to be about 2.5 turns lock to lock.

so you guys who have done this, how did you anchor the ps cooler and cruise control stuff on the Gen3 sf, since the front of it is much farther forward than the original?

My PS cooler sits on top, held on with some brackets shaped like

That mount from the front. For the cruise, I straightened out the original mounting bracket for that, and screwed it to the back of the sf. Makes it a little tougher to get the starter out though.

on my atx, i'm using a stock atx trans cooler for the ps mounted infront of the stock trans cooler. flatted an old set of main bearings for the mounting bracket. lol. but the plumbing runs from the fluid resevoir down the inner fender down infront of the rad, then out the other side back to the rack over the trans. extra cooling for track, more capacity.
