My 93 ATX has fusible links before the fuse box, unlike the diagram. They're right in line with the power cable going to fuse box.
ATX best place to run power wire.

Also, I'd be against tailing such a beefy power wire off the.. 8 ga? ..factory wire from the battery to the fuse box. I'm on the verge of giving up on running wires for this car. Might have to take it somewhere and have them drill a hole or something.

If you attempt it, get yourself a step drill bit. It'll make life a lot easier.
