I've got a 2011 Taurus SHO with 22k on it and it's developed some weird traits as of late. A little less than a year ago they replaced the rear diff on it. When it's cold and just started it recently has a tendency to make a weird sound almost like a growl from the engine bay that isn't your average sound of it revving up. It also has at times either shifted way late or held shifts longer than normal. The sound and feel almost feels like it's the transmission slipping. At times it quite hard to duplicate but has been done with the local ford dealer, no matter what I tell them it does the service manager insisted it was only a heat shield but when they checked all that they said everything was tight. I keep thinking it's either in the transmission or the transfercase.
Any ideas? Or help? I just get this feeling the dealer is just gonna send me packing now for the second time because they can't seem to figure it out.
