Anti lock brake failure ?

I made a panic stop in the rain..60-0 and the car(91)just skid. In my 90, the pedal pulsated and the tires never locked up.Is there a common fix for no antilock ? In general the car stops ok.

try the fuses? mien wasn't workign and it was a fuse. my antilock light was on for a week or 2 before i tried it and bingo they worked again.

man, there is nothing wrong with your car, thats just the way antilock brakes work.

Its most likely one of your abs wheel sensors that has gone bad.

Edited - Yes, I didn't read the post thoroughly.

If the ABS system were not functioning correctly, you should be getting an ABS warning light in the instrument cluster.

Guys, re-read the post.

In his '91, the car just skidded.

In his '90, ABS operated like it should.

Kevin: is the ABS warning light on? Is the ABS pump motor running? (Listen down near the driver's side front tire for a motor)

Why I got another SHO I'll never know but...
1)My antilock light is/never was on. I'll check the fuse anyway.
2)Hope the fix is something simple...ABS wheel sensors sounds like a Bi#!%; especially since the car is getting 4 new struts @ Sears this week and funding is getting low.
3)Thanks anyway SDATF...after 1529 posts, I'll forgive your cursory read as I'm sure you have seen enough SHO problems (I know I've seen enough w/my 90 SHO).
4)Thanks [email protected]'ll listen for the motor tommrow before I check out a possible 5.0 Mustang for my 17 year old son.

I checked the car today and the antilock pump motor is running. The abs warning light is not on. I,m not sure where to look for a fuse for the abs? Would a bad fuse cause the warning light to come on? any thoughts before I bring it to FORD?
