Does anyone know where I can get a Ford Factory alarm remote? Apparently my 93 MTX doesn't have keyless entry, but does have an alarm. I have a keyless remote now that is useless to me (bought on e-bay for $15.00 plus shipping.

Did you positively verify that you do not in fact have remote keyless entry on your car? Even though some cars don't have keypads on the doors, they still have the module in the trunk.

Double check to see if you have the module in the trunk. If you're positive you don't, you're going to have to find the alarm brain box to see what model # it is to find the correct remote.

Presuming you don't have RKE, and you do have a Ford alarm system (two big presumptions at this point), most 4-button Code Alarm brand remotes will work, since Code Alarm makes all of the OEM alarms for Ford.

Go to this thread and see if you have the RKE module before spending any more money: http://www.shoforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=19;t=000564. One of the posts has a picture of what you should see in the top left corner of the trunk, under the package shelf, next to the strut tower, behind the panel that covers the JBL amps, etc.

If you do have the alarm module in the trunk, you may do what I did and go to the Ford dealer to purchase a remote. On my 95 MTX I purchase a remote for approx. $40, thats if you want to pay that much for a new one. The Ford service dept. programmed the new one at no extra charge.
I'm not 100 percent sure but, I think you may be able to find a Ford factory remote for your 93 from another member if they have one for sale and have it reprogrammed by the dealer to operate for your car.

Good luck,
Dkal
