I have a 93 Atx Sho, and after hitting a pothole while coming to a stop, my ABS activated and my ABS light came on, and has stayed on. I'm assuming it's the wheel sensor of that wheel that hit the pothole, but wanted to check the abs codes before replacing. My question is where exactly is the abs connector located? I checked on the driver side firewall btwn strut tower and brake booster. I have two on the passenger side one which is the main diagnostic connector, the other i thought was the abs, but couldn't get anything when i jumped the pins.

the abs light should blink out a two-digit code when you start the car. count that and let us know what it is.

I was curious if someone could tell me exactly where the abs connector is to pull the codes. I have two connectors on the passenger side, one I know is the EEC, the other I'm not sure but tried jump the pins and got no response from the abs light.

Depends if you're actually doing it right. I haven't had to do it yet, but I am having abs light issues now as well. Not sure if it's electronic or fluid related. I added a little fluid about 5 weeks ago and the light went off for a few weeks. Now it comes and goes again. Pedal feel is not that firm so I first will be looking for a line leak or somewhere in the master cylinder or brake booster. Or I could be way off and it is indeed an intermittent electronic fault.

My anti lock light is on & stays on, in my 94 sho. It doesn’t blink at all. Car stops great. Tested the anti lock system tester connector with a voltage tester & there is zero power coming from it. If anyone has any ideas to help me, I’ll take him!.. lol. Its my dd & I still love my sho. Thanks in advance.

I've got an ABS light that I've had the parts to fix for quite a while, just haven't gotten around to it. The problem is the same as I've fixed before.

The ABS "motor" in the front drivers side of the engine compartment is mounted to a solenoid body, the part many hoses go into. The computer trips these solenoids to release the brake pressure of particular wheels. There are eight solenoids.

1J7Phot

The solenoids burn out or go bad. The computer reads the bad solenoid coil and trips the light. The ABS test will give you the module code, as opposed to a wheel sensor code or other fault.

You can also see that the ABS module needs a working brake switch signal (without which you can't shift an ATX out of park). Also Orange/Yellow ABS power is from 30A Anti-lock fuse, and the system needs a working ABS relay, which is a normal automotive relay in front of the air filter box.

The trick to diagnosing a blown solenoid coil is to disconnect the wiring harness connector in the engine compartment, and probe the pins corresponding to each coil inside the solenoid body with a multimeter to check the impedance. For example, to measure the "left-front-inlet" coil, measure between pin 7 and 17 (diagram and colors for 1993 SHO, but gen 2 likely all the same).

They will each read something like 6 ohms. When you find a coil that has no continuity, has gone open circuit, then it's time to hit the wrecking yard.
